Matthew Margeson

Matthew Margeson is a native of the East Coast, having studied composition and film scoring at Berklee College of Music, Boston. Matthew relocated to Los Angeles in 2003 to work for film composer Klaus Badelt (The Recruit, Catwoman).  In 2005, Matthew took the position of technical engineer for composer James Dooley at Hans Zimmer’s studio, Remote Control Productions, in Santa Monica, CA.  While working at RCP, he has assisted on such films as Constantine and The DaVinci Code.

Matthew has done additional arranging and synth-programming for both feature films and video games, such as:  The Simpson’s Movie, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and You Don’t Mess with the Zohan.  He has also written music for various television commercials and Internet programs.  His music has been recorded by orchestras in both Los Angeles and London, in addition to other orchestras throughout eastern Europe. In 2007, Matthew participated in ASCAP’s Television and Film Scoring Workshop, where he was awarded the ASCAP Foundation Steve Kaplan TV & Film Studies Scholarship. Most recently, he has been working with composer Harry Gregson-Williams on music arrangements for Prince of Persia, as well as completing his original score to Burning Palms (Films In Motion).
