Sean Fernald has a long background in music, and an expertise in how songs are cleared for media. Sean was a Music Licensing executive for Sony Music for many years. And a music executive at major labels such as Capitol Records, Virgin Records and MCA Records where he built a storehouse of relationships. As well, Sean was a consultant for Chris Blackwell’s Palm Pictures, and is a voting member of NARAS (The association behind the Grammy’s).
Sean has experience licensing music for both film and soundtrack compilation projects. He has a strong understanding of the dynamics and mechanics of music clearance and music rights. He is able to issue and coordinate the execution of final synch and master use licenses for all compositions and recordings. He prides himself on being creatively friendly and optimally organized. He compiles all music licenses, agreements, memos and cue sheets along with the final music budget for delivery to the producer in a music rights’ binder, for easy reference and hand-off to a distributor.
