Chris Sheldon

IMDB

Christopher Sheldon has been one of the sought-after supervisors in post-production sound for many years. As supervisor he has overseen seminal independent films such as Miguel Arteta’s The Good Girl with Jennifer Aniston, and Doug Limon’s Go and even broad horror such as Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI for Paramount Pictures.

Most recently, Christopher Sheldon teamed up with the highly influential Polish Brothers to oversee the Sound on such landmark films as Northfork, The Astronaut Farmer and 2010’s Manure starring Billy Bob Thornton and Tea Leoni, as well as their highly anticipated comic ensemble Stay Cool. As a sound supervisor, Christopher Sheldon goes the extra mile, visiting shoot locations himself to record organic sounds that will later be used in the post-production soundtrack. He is uniquely involved in every aspect of the sonic details from overseeing the Sound Design, to joining up with the Director on the ADR stage.

Chris takes active responsibility for every component of the soundtrack, and even has an extensive background in folly recording. Comfortable in both worlds of ADR and Sound Design, Chris recently supervised the Dialogue and ADR for Jackie Chan’s The Forbidden Kingdom, which had him recording in China, Japan and Australia for many months. “I always try to empathize with the characters in the movies I’m working on. I find the appropriate sounds to emphasize the characters’ development in the sweep of the film. I see my job as the ability utilize my audio knowledge to help the director tell his story through sound,” says Chris. He recently put his sound supervision to good use completing Burning Palms, the directorial debut of Christopher Landon, helmer of Disturbia.
